THE COBOGÓ
Cobogó is the name given to the hollow element, widely used in the 20s by engineers Amadeu Oliveira Coimbra,
Ernest August Boeckmann and Antonio Gois, who patented the name with the initials of their last names, also accepts the grammatical form combogó, is from a Pernambuco -
Brazil, inspired by muxarabis, wooden frames castings, widely used in Moorish architecture.
Present at the beginning of Pernambuco colonization, with the intention to maintain privacy without compromising brightness and visibility from the inside of the building.
The cobogós were and are still widely used in facades and partitions as the indoors. For allow for a "break" from direct sunlight and even better to use the natural ventilation.
